PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with “Digital Personal Data” (defined in The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, India) which is being used online. Digital Personal Data, means personal data in digital form representing information, facts, concepts, opinions or instruction in a manner suitable for communication, interpretation or processing by human being or by automated means. Please read our privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how we collect, use, protect or otherwise handle your Personal Data.
1. What information does Week’nd Collect from you ?
We collect information from you when you create your profile/register on our app, select the preferred city for meeting & dining, and after approval of your profile from administrator, you initiate dining request, select available dates and time slots, in the upcoming week, at least 5 days from current date, select minimum 5 restaurants out of 8, which we display on our app, which are located in the selected preferred city for dining, and proceed with payment of Rs 1199 as Dining Request Fee (Inclusive of all taxes) (which does not include the cost of meals). You can update your profile from Account tab in app. During the signup process, users are shown a message of “By clicking on signup, you agree to our terms & conditions and that you have read our privacy policy. Users are expected to read our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, which they read before signing up. All Users can see their personal information from Account Tab in App and booking history from the Meetings Tab.
Depending on your interactions with Mobile App and site (e.g., creating an account, subscribing to newsletters, filling out contact forms, phone interactions) we may collect the following Data:
a. Identification Data: Name, DOB, Career Status, UG & PG College/University Details, Gender, Phone Number, Email Address, Profile Photo, Language Proficiency Video, Work related information and Professional area of interest etc.
b. Economic and Financial Data: Information related to purchases of Week’nd services.
2. How and when is your information collected?
(i) Information submitted by you:
In order to avail the service, you provide the following information:
a. While registering for our service, you share with us your personal data, such as name, your gender, date of birth, contact details, educational qualification, employment details, photo, and your interests and sensitive personal data such as your College ID Card, Marksheet, Employment proof, Qualification proof etc.
b. When you make payment while initiating a dining request, you provide us or our payment service provider with the sensitive personal data such as your Bank account, debit or credit card number or UPI.
c. Details shared with our customer care team. (This information is used to monitor or for training purposes and to ensure a better service).
(ii) Information we receive from others:
In addition to the information, you provide us directly, we receive information about you from others, such as:
a. College ID/ Other Doc for verification uploaded by you, while registering or creating a profile, will be carefully examined by our team, and to check the authenticity of that document, the concerned or related authority can be contacted by our team.
b. If your PG is completed through clearing a Professional Exam, and the proof of the same is uploaded by you, while registering or creating a profile, to verify the authenticity of the document or related claim(s) of passing the given course/exam, the concerned or related authority can be contacted by our team.
c. When you provide your work-related information under “Select your Employment Status” OR “Are you interning somewhere”, and upload the related document, it will be carefully examined by our team, and to check the authenticity of that document and given information, the concerned or related authority can be contacted by our team.
d. When you provide your Exams & Certifications related information under Exams & Certifications, and upload any related document, it will be carefully examined by our team, and to verify the authenticity of that document or related claim(s) of passing the given course/exam/qualifications/certifications/work experience, the concerned or related authority can be contacted by our team.
e. Social Media : When you provide us with your social media account link (Instagram Public Account ID/Username/URL, LinkedIn Profile Name/URL, YouTube Channel Name/URL, Webpage URL, X Account Name/Username and your profile details registered on any other widely recognised Social Media Platform, under Work & Interests, you give us the consent to visit that link, verify the authenticity and ownership of that account, and to know more about you, so that we can find you a dining companion having interest in similar areas of content creation.
3. How do we use your Information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register/create account, initiate dining request, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other app features in the following ways:
(i) To improve our app in order to better serve you.
(ii) To allow us to better serve you in responding to your customer service requests.
(iii) To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other app feature.
(iv) To send periodic emails regarding services.
(v) Manage your account.
(vi) Provide you with customer support.
(vii) Communicate with you by email or phone about services, promotions or offers that may be of your interest.
4. With whom do we share the collected data?
Do we disclose the information we collect to Third Parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your name, address, city, town, any form or online contact identifier, email, or any personally identifiable information without your consent. In case, we get into a partnership, which requires us to share the information with the said third party, the same will be communicated to the customer very clearly, at the time of collecting the information.
a. With other users
The information shared by you is not shared with other users to provide the services. The information so provided, is only visible to the admin, to find the right dining companion for you. Post meeting & dining with your companion, only your profile photo and bio is visible when you accept the Chat Request from your dining companion, under Connect Tab. Be cautious as what you share with your dining companion during dining/meeting. You can always control your preferences by filling “Meeting Preferences” & “Privacy Preferences” in app, which is visible to your dining companion before and after meeting.
b. With our service providers and partners
We may use third party service providers to provide website and application development, hosting, maintenance, backup, storage, payment processing, analysis and other services for us, which may require them to access or use information about you. If a service provider needs to access information about you to perform services on our behalf, they do so under close instruction from us, including policies and procedures designed to protect your information. All of our service providers and partners agree to strict confidentiality obligations and data protection.
We share information like Booking Request Companion(s) names, their individual reviews related to the restaurant and dining experience post dining, and their individual reason of cancellation of confirmed booking (if any), with our Restaurant Partners to facilitate bookings, and to keep a track of completed/cancelled/no-show bookings.
c. With law enforcement agencies
We will disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, other members interest and protection and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us.
5. How do we protect your data?
Our App, Administration Panels, databases are scanned on a regular basis for security deficiencies and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our app and site as safe as possible. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. We implement a variety of security measures when a user creates a profile, submits it for review by admin, and initiates a dining request to finally meet the dining companion. All transactions are processed through a payment gateway provider. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your account in Week’nd App. Be sure to log out when you finish using a shared mobile device. Your Data is stored on secure servers protected by firewalls, antivirus software, and restricted access. Technical and organizational measures ensure Data confidentiality and prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
You are responsible for safeguarding your account password.
6. How long do we keep your information?
Profile Details of the users are stored with us unless user takes an action of “Delete Account”, from App. When a user’s account is blocked, and we receive no further communication from user (despite notifying user that his/her account has been blocked), we delete the submitted user’s profile data within 6 months from the date of blocking the account.
7. Policy concerning our customers and the protection of their privacy?
Week’nd is committed to protecting minors and preventing all forms of child exploitation. We have a zero-tolerance policy for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and the sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
Any content, behavior, or activity involving or encouraging child exploitation is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account removal and reporting to authorities.
Users can report concerning behaviour of other users or content directly by reporting, giving a valid reason, under in-app messaging – “Connect” feature or contact our Help & Support Team at customer@weekndapp.in
When we become aware of CSAM, we report it to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) or the appropriate local authority.
Week’nd complies with all child safety and data protection laws.
Our goal is to ensure a safe, respectful, and responsible platform for everyone.
8. Why do we collect proofs?
To attempt that only genuine members participate, the certificates are only visible to administrator. Although this precaution is being taken, we do not accept any legal responsibility on the veracity of these documents.
Note: We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time based on your comments or as a result of a change of policy in our company. In case we do not receive any response, it will be assumed that you have understood the privacy policy and good with it.
